Whilst visiting Bratislava trying the local food is an essential! Although the traditional dishes are meaty, there are options for everyone.
- Best restaurants: Where to eat
- Pancakes: Surprisingly popular with the natives
- Veggies: Whats it like to be meat free in Bratislava?
- The locals: What do the Slovakians eat?
During out visit to Bratislava we dined out a various restaurants and cafes. We tried to try as much of the local cuisine as we possibly could.
Our first taste of Slovakian food was pancakes, which we did not expect! As we were making our way from the train station to the hotel we stumbled across a small cafe called pancakes. Inside there was a cosy but lively atmosphere, as people gathered to indulge on these amazing pancakes.

We chose the Nutella and banana pancake and the sweet and salty (salted caramel) pancake. Both pancakes were amazing, with some great flavours. All at an reasonable price ranging from €1.80 to €2.50.
